This upcoming program at the NWFF looks awesome – it’s this Sun May 2nd, 5PM:

A rain soaked digital love letter featuring NEW Experimental, Documentary and Animation work from the hearts, minds and soul’s of Stumptown’s finest film and video artists: Vanessa Renwick, Matt McCormick, Cassie Cohn, Brian Libby, Jeff Guay, Karl Lind, Cat Tyc, Lori-D, Stephan Nedalman, Carl Diehl, Andrew Klaus, Dustin Zemel and more!

For those of you unfamiliar with the Stumptown reference, like I was (hey, I’m not a NW native, OK?), this is from Wikipedia:

“Stumptown is one of several nicknames of Portland, Oregon. The city was nicknamed Stumptown in the mid 19th century, when the city’s growth forced land to be cleared quickly to accommodate the growth, but the tree stumps were not immediately removed. The nickname is used in the names of several local businesses, including Stumptown Coffee Roasters, an independent coffee roaster and retailer located in Portland; Stumptown (comics), a creator-owned detective fiction comic book series by Greg Rucka, set in Portland; and the Stumptown Comics Fest, an annual Comic Festival held in Portland.”

I’m preparing a post about Alice in Wonderland which I recently was in 3D, and it’s going to rock! It’s going to include clips from Tim Burton’s Alice, Jan Svankmejer’s Alice, and Disney’s Alice, so stay tuned!

  1. Oh, I wish I’d read this sooner. I’d have posted it on the ASIFA Seattle network site!

We just switched over to http://www.asifaseattle.spruz.com – since Ning will no longer be free starting in July.
