I am happy to be visiting Seattle at the beginning of August on my way to an artist residency in Northern California. I am even happier to be hosting an event at the Grand Illusion Cinema on August 8 to celebrate the recently completed website for the small non-profit I run, Haptic Animation Amplifier, which supports independent animation in the Pacific Northwest of the USA. We received a small grant from 4Culture to help pay for data entry, and now the website is full of useful information about the history of animation in this region, currently practicing animators, and resources to help in their careers (some useful to animators all over the world – check it out!).
The event i am hosting is free to attend, and is also a screening of animated short films from around the word. The event is called Shot in the Dark, and will feature 10 recent short films from Poland, Hungary, Italy, Canada and more. A very inspiring collection (including my own most recent short The Lost Mariner), it will be a joy to see them on the big screen. See the full program below, and visit the Facebook event.
