After a fruitful and interesting trip to the NW Film & Video Festival in Portland last weekend, I come back to find it’s already time for Art Walk! And there’s a lot happening this month:

In our studio (Studio B, 1520 11th Ave) painter Mark Mueller is having a guest artist in his space: Paul Dahlquist, 81 year old photographer. This show of 8×10 black and white photos is called ‘Working Prints’ and includes nudes, landscapes, and erotics, some going back to the 1950s. Liz Sheets will be her in her space with her wonderful handmade art books, and Doug Mora will be showing an installation piece inspired by, and using clips from the 1972 movie ‘Deliverance‘ (it’s pretty awesome – I should know, I helped edit it). I will be in my space as usual working on/demonstrating my animated short, Plain Face.

Trapeze studio across the hall from ours is sure to be open and showing wonderful work as usual, and finally a few doors down at 1508 11th Ave, Mark Mueller also has a few pieces in a show at Vermillion called ‘People in Our Neighborhood’ that is on until November 21st, so this will be your last chance to see the show in an Art Walk environment.

So come one, come all! This Thursday November 11th, 6PM-10PM, 1520 11th Ave. Dial #94 at the door for entry.
