The water film is fast approaching the end! Here I’m animating three of the scenes relating to how the water is cleaned in the treatment plant. The first step is where the trash is filtered out of the water:

This scene is another eight frame maximized loop. This one was a little trickier because there’s a lot happening on the screen at once. The balls of trash turn into flat pieces of trash when they meet the filter, and these are lifted out of the water. Here is the pencil test of the maximized loop so you can see the action:

The second treatment scene depicts the water settling in tanks – gravity does its job and the heavy things fall to the bottom, while the light things float to the top.

Above you can see a close up of the dots cut-outs I made to represent the floating matter.
This was also an eight frame maximized loop, quite pleasing to watch:

The third treatment scene describes a ‘bacteria hot tub’, a tank where bacteria are fostered and clean the water.

This was not a maximized loop, but just a regular loop of bacteria clustering around a dirt particle, and making it disappear.
Tomorrow: porous straws and title sequence!
