The Eye Candy Animation Festival is an exciting one-night only event in Olympia, WA on Saturday, June 5th at 9PM.  It’s being organized by Tommy Thompson a talented, soon to be graduating student at the Evergreen State College (a school with a well-known animation department – they recently brought in Yuri Norstein). You may have seen Tommy’s Endless Tunnel at the Animated Art program in January at the NWFF here in Seattle.

The Program brings together Olympia animators but also a hefty number of SEAT members (SEAT= Seattle Experimental Animation Team – check out our new Facebook Fan Page!), and it coincides with the Olympia Comics Festival which is happening throughout the day from noon.  Sounds like a great day in Olympia to me! Check out the tentative program below. Filmmakers include Stefan Gruber, Britta Johnson,Web Crowell, Drew Christie, Clyde Petersen and me!

Come be dazzled by the work of local animators! Gathering recent pieces by professional, amateur, and student animators from all around the Pacific Northwest, this one-night extravaganza will showcase a variety of visually striking animation styles and techniques — something for everyone! Hosted by students from The Evergreen State College, in conjunction with SEAT (Seattle Experimental Animation Team) and The Olympia Comics Festival.

One Response to “Announcing Eye Candy Animation Festival, Olympia, WA!”

  1. I thoroughly enjoyed your piece last night, Tess! The simple, spare look of your compositions, the texture, color, and pacing of the piece…wonderful work.
